Dave Welling set out to open the first brewery in Aberdeen, South Dakota way back in 2018 after moving from Michigan with his wife and daughters.

 

He rented a vacated printing shop on South Main Street, rolled up his sleeves and brought his experience as a home brewer, a truckload of brewing equipment and had the place open in six months - all while working two jobs!

 

Today, the One Legged Pheasant is known as the bar in Aberdeen, SD with the BEST beers.

The One Legged Pheasant features delicious and unique specialty beers from sours and meades to porters and stouts. For those who are a little more comfortable with the tried and true domestics, we have the perfect brews for you too!
